The winner?

Mr. Morris opened the door. “David, I need to see you after class.” The class had fallen silent. I had been teaching for half an hour and they hadn’t listened. Their own conversations were more important than what would be on their Chemistry exam Friday.
I went off the lesson plan. In fact, I just went off.  “I want you all to think about what just happened. Since you walked in the room you have not ceased talking, but as soon as a man spoke you all got quiet. Girls, I especially want you to think about what this means. Why will you listen to a man but you won’t listen to me? Why were his words more important than mine?  Girls, you may not think about it now, but someday it will be you getting overlooked for the promotion or left out of the discussion because you are a woman. You can be the ones to change this by showing respect t to women today!”
As the students left class, David told the girl next to him about the argument he had with  his girlfriend.
“Yeah, girls are just all drama.” she said.
I could have strangled her.
